ІХ International conference for international students “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” completed its work
On May 10, 2024, the IX International Conference “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, which was organized by scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Philology and Translation of the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies.
The conference was held on the initiative of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine with the support of the INTREPID-HEI International Project.
Co-organizers of the conference were: Pryazovskyi State Technical University, Luhansk Taras Shevchenko National University (Poltava), Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia), Donbas State Engineering Academy (Ternopil), T. H. Shevchenko National University “Chernihiv Colehium”, National Aviation University, Hryhorii Skovoroda University in Pereiaslav, Odesa State Agrarian University, Jagiellonian University (Institute of Eastern Slavonic Studies, Department of Ukrainian Studies) (Poland), Baku Slavic University (Azerbaijan), Tskhum-Abkhazian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Slavic Languages) (Tbilisi, Georgia), Sokhumi State University (Tbilisi, Georgia), Otto-Friedrich University of Bamberg (Germany), Academy of Applied Sciences, Higher School of Management and Administration in Opole (Poland), Istanbul University Language Center (Turkey), International Cultural and Educational Association (ICEA) (USA).
The ceremonial opening of the conference began with speeches by PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Assistant of Vice-rector for Research and Innovation of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design Vasyl BUHAS and PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Director of the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies Tetiana VLASIUK.
Vasyl BUHAS emphasized the importance of cultural diversity and equal dialogue of cultures for a modern civilized democratic society, scientific work for modern specialists and wished those present diligence and productive work.
Tetiana VLASIUK congratulated the community and informed that the conference is taking place within the framework of the celebration of Europe Day and Science Day in Ukraine and with the aim of creating a professional platform for discussing philological aspects of intercultural dialogue, as well as sharing the experience of improving the quality of training of foreign students in higher education institutions of Ukraine.
The moderators of the event were Tetiana VLASIUK, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Director of the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies, Yelyzaveta ISAKOVA, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Philology and Translation and Svitlana DVORIANCHYKOVA, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of Philology and Translation.
The conference was attended by more than 100 scientists, teachers, post-graduate students and graduates of higher education institutions in Ukraine (Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kramatorsk, Kryvyi Rih, Lviv, Odesa, Pereyaslav, Poltava, Ternopil, Kherson, Chernivtsi, Chernihiv), Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ireland, Germany, Poland, the United States of America and Turkey.
Six sections worked within the framework of the conference:
1. Cultural and educational traditions of Ukraine and other countries.
2. Development of modern institutions of higher education and general secondary education of Ukraine and the world.
3. Traditions and prospects of teaching foreign students at the institutions of higher education of Ukraine and the world.
4. Foreign students in the language environment of modern Ukraine and other countries in the context of transformation and globalization.
5. Mastering foreign languages as a factor of increasing the professional and educational opportunities for citizens of other countries who receive general secondary and higher education in Ukraine and other countries.
6. Philology through the prism of the dialogue of cultures.

The speakers noted that the dialogue of cultures should become a new political and educational strategy for Ukraine, and under these circumstances, communication in foreign languages in the conditions of worldwide globalization becomes especially relevant.
The educational and scientific work of the staff of the Department of Philology and Translation of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design is consistent with the European vector of modern Ukrainian education. The teachers of the department implement a number of international projects together with foreign partners and work on developing ideas for further cooperation. The guests of the conference emphasized that the cooperation with scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Philology and Translation of KNUTD is fruitful and promising, the theme of the Conference “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education the event organization and moderation.
During the work of the sectional meetings, reports of scientific and pedagogical workers, graduate students and students were listened by the participants and guests.
A number of reports provoked a lively discussion, as the authors highlighted the most important topical theoretical and practical aspects of intercultural dialogue, multiculturalism and the acquisition of foreign languages in educational institutions of Ukraine, which will contribute to the democratization of society and Ukraine’s entry into the world community:
